How to Use Photoshop AI Generative Fill in 2023 Detailed Tutorial

Finally, click generative fill, then generate without adding a text prompt. Combining photos is another great way to use Photoshop AI’s generative fill feature. Again, I would have preferred some motion blur, but since I was limiting the act of jubilant creativity to just the Lasso tool and Generative Fill, there was no beam of light and no motion blur. All I had to do was select where the buildings were and hit Generative Fill.

I think you can probably see how Generative Fill might be a really big help to those using Photoshop who need to add elements. While this image was firmly for fun, I’ll be back in future weeks looking at how to use this tool for a more professional result. The AI is weirdly fussy about what it will and will not create. Expect to spend some serious time trying multiple generation runs and multiple prompts. You’ll notice that the generative fill taskbar reveals a text prompt input box. By leaving it blank, Photoshop AI examines the pixels in the image and extends them within your selected area.
